This trumps trump's wall

The drug cartels have been using tunnels for transporting drugs and also human trafficking for years. Just how far deep in the ground is trump going to bury his barrier to obstruct tunnels?

Trump's wall is not going to stop drugs from coming into the U.S. Many drugs come by speed boats through Florida. The wall will not stop that. The 9/11 attackers came down through Canada. How is a wall on the U.S./Mexican border going to stop that?

It is reported now that drugs from Mexico are being delivered by drones flying over the border. If the wall is built the drones will just fly over it. Low flying aircraft under radar have already been bringing in drugs for years. There have been reports lately of people putting up ladders against existing fences and throwing stuff over.

It is also reported that our ports of entry are major access points for drug smuggling.

And now people are out of work and not being paid over this damn wall!

Below is the most recent pic of the latest wall that was discovered by Mexican police. This is the 3rd one discovered in a month.

The wall. Will it work?

To block the tunnels the base will have to go deep underground.

Trump's proposed wall would go a few feet underground, I can't remember how far. It would stop some of the drug flow temporarily but you noted some of the ways to defeat it. We really need to think about how to deal with drugs overall. Building a border wall would not make a serious dent in drug trafficking.

For the caravan people, just check the tattoos on some of them

The new wall with the steel slats has detection devices that detect ground vibrations made by jackhammers tunneling under them... like in a bank vault. they also detect the ladder propted against them. There's new x-ray devices to scan cars with that reveal hidden compartments. The submarine the cartels tried was caught. They might get away with it for awhile but sooner or later they will be caught. What will happen with the wall is a steady degree of suppression causing the price of drugs to go up which will reduce it's usage. With the price of the wall at $5.7 Billion that alone would be offset by the number of illegals in our prison system which currently stands at about 40%

The asylum seekers are screened for possible gang connections. If the guy has a gang tattoo the Border Patrol officers will notice. Their chances of being granted asylum are zero.

If they are making them take their shirts then good. Gangs make their members brand themselves with a tat to show who that swear allegiance to.

I also want to point out there are NINE consulates and the embassy in Mexico where these poor, destitute migrants may legally apply for sanctuary statues here in the USA... uless you approve of these poor misfortunate souls jumping the line ahead of those from say Brazil, Armenia, Moldavia, and Serbia who can't sneak in.

Many of those people are running for their lives. You ever see people run for their lives? I have.

Would you want them in here??? or granted asylum to come to your town? We had one of those poor unfortunates selling drugs here who got gunned down in an ally... no name no papers body unclaimed.. NO LOSS.

If they were good people I would have no problem with that.

The French built a wall (Maginot Line) along their border in the 1930's to keep out the Germans. The Germans simply outflanked it and poured in.

That's right. I learned about the Maginot Line in high school. Instead of attacking it the Germans just went around it.

If an asylum seeker was granted asylum I would not be too concerned about him/her living in my neighborhood. There is no statistical evidence that leads me to believe he/she is more likely to commit crime than an American born neighbor.

There was another race of people here before the white people came that must have felt the same way when they were invaded by the Caucasians.

I am pretty well diverse and not prejudice. OMG! I have had plenty of black and Hispanic dicks up my ass...and sometimes my mouth, mostly white guys though.

it is all political. as far as the wall goes what a waste of money. it will not stop anyone from entering into the country, the drugs do not go over the wall they go through tunels and right through the border crossings. and what ever other ways they can get drugs into the country.

Some also come in by speed boat in Fla, gulf coast and California. Now it is reported that some are being delivered by drones and as always aircraft.

Now there have been reports of ladders being used and things tossed over the fence.

As we have learned how to fight wars remotely with UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) - along with drones, CCTV cameras, motion detectors, etc there is a modern solution.

FInd those who are trying to sneak across the border long before they succeed, and have agents waiting on the other side for their arrival.

We now have enough agents/ military stationed there to have a set of eyes every quarter mile.
That combined with technology is more than enough to provide a solution, and is flexible to make modifications to the effort quite easily when needed.

Deterrence is the key.. A wall is not going to deter, but instead, its a mere inconvenience to be surmounted.

When the first caravan arrived at Tijuana, the news cameras turned to the rather robust wall that is already in place there.

It had dozens of people perched on top, watching as others arrived at the border.

The deal was that Mexico is going to pay for the wall.
That was one of the basic tenets of his campaign promise.

He must have thought America was going to forget that part of the promise, that the wall was going to be paid by Mexico.

Wrong answer. We did not forget.

It is better to remain silent, and thought a fool -
Than to speak ignorance, and remove all doubt !
